Out of 3,143 counties nationwide, only 16 returned five or more death sentences in the six-year period between 2010 and 2015. These outlier counties include:Breyer map Los Angeles (CA), Riverside (CA), Orange (CA), Kern (CA), San Bernardino (CA), Maricopa (AZ), Clark (NV), Dallas (TX), Harris (TX), Caddo Parish (LA), Mobile (AL), Jefferson County (AL), Duval (FL), Miami-Dade (FL), Pinellas (FL), and Hillsborough (FL).

The Death Penalty is Cruel
These outlier counties are plagued by overzealous prosecutors, bad lawyering, patterns of racial exclusion and bias, wrongful convictions, and the over-punishment of persons with severe mental illnesses, intellectual disability, and other forms of impairments and trauma.
